World Environment Day approaches. As always, it is celebrated on June 5th. whatimpact wants to mark the occasion and help raise awareness on this year’s theme: ecosystem restoration. World Environment Day also kicks off the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.
Reviving different ecosystems, such as forests, farmlands or peatlands, is a huge project, because ecosystems are deteriorating quickly. Oceans, rivers and lakes get polluted, soil erosion impoverishes the quality of farmlands, and forests suffer from extensive logging.
But it’s not a hopeless cause. As the United Nations reminds us: “It will only succeed if everyone plays a part.”
This is how whatimpact supports environmental charities and social enterprises
Countless charities and social enterprises work to protect wildlife, slow down erosion and reduce pollution. And we know that many companies and grant-makers want to play their part, too, by donating services, money, products or their skills and time.
We at whatimpact do what we know best: facilitate the connections between the two, to maximise the impact of donations.
As a part of that work, we launched a special World Environment Day promotion to accelerate the matchmaking between Recipients doing important environmental work and Supporters who believe in those missions and want to ensure they materialise.
