whatimpact.com is evolving into a free, open-access platform that revolutionises how Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprises (VCSEs) connect with private sector organisations offering funding, in-kind support, and skilled volunteers. Our interactive map will showcase over 250,000 VCSEs across the UK with Charity Commission and Companies House data, providing them with unprecedented visibility and opportunities for collaboration. VCSEs can claim their profile and complete them with data, that helps connect them with companies looking for partners for detailed social value criteria – now mandatory in public sector procurement.
Driving Impact Since 2018
Since its inception, whatimpact has championed VCSE-company partnerships by leveraging high-quality data to match voluntary and social organisations with government suppliers seeking hyper-local partners for social and environmental initiatives. Following Social Value Act 2012 and PPN06/20 by the UK government, all government suppliers are bound to create social value plans as part of government contracts. This includs community engagement, equal opportunity practices, social cohesion and environmental projects to name a few fields. VCSEs role as indispensable as subject matter experts and delivery partners is well recognised.
Open Access: A Game-Changer for VCSEs
Our transition to an open-access marketplace will transform how VCSEs connect with private sector partners. With hundreds—and soon thousands—of companies signing up to the marketplace and endorsements from key procurement agencies, housing associations, and councils, the platform will attract significant traffic. VCSEs can showcase their needs, apply for partnership offers with a single click, and connect directly with companies for meaningful collaboration.
Secure, Verified Matches with Impact Reporting
Our platform ensures secure, verified matches and offers a direct communication channel to the right decision-makers. VCSEs will also have access to our comprehensive impact reporting system, developed in collaboration with NCVO, enabling them to showcase their outcomes to supporters. For every impact report submitted, VCSEs receive a £50 unrestricted grant.
Upcoming Launch: February 2025
The revamped matchmaking platform, including the map and search system, will launch to companies in early February 2025. Leading UK companies are already using the platform, and we now invite ALL VCSEs to join!
