whatimpact are supporting Newport City Council in their vision for a more ambitious, fairer and greener Newport using modern grant-making system.
Newport City Council, Wales, has partnered with whatimpact.com, a social value matchmaking platform, to help launch a modern grant-making system easily accessible to charities, social enterprises and local community groups (VCSEs). Newport City Council will allocate significant amount of Shared Prosperity Funds (SPF) through whatimpact for activities and projects in the areas of culture, heritage and sports that support local communities in Newport. whatimpact platform offers streamlined, transparent grant application process, and an equal opportunity for all community groups to apply.
The aim of these grants is to enhance the social fabric and to instil a sense of local pride in Newport. The impact of the projects shall focus on building resilient, healthy and safe neighbourhoods, and to create innovative approaches to crime prevention through supporting activities and events in sports, culture and heritage. Newport City Council is looking to fund a wide range of events, projects and initiatives run by voluntary organisations, social enterprises and community groups with beneficiaries in Newport. The grant schemes are looking for innovative intervention approaches, both one-off events and year long projects.

The good news is whatimpact has made the grant application process simple, accessible for all! You simply need to create a charity, social enterprise or an unregistered community group profile at whatimpact.com, fill out details for your specific project, and send your application through the platform. The Newport steering group will evaluate applications ongoing basis, granting funds throughout the funding period for new and upcoming projects.
